Showersave launched its innovative heat exchanger technology in the Netherlands in 2005 and introduced it to the UK market by 2008, becoming the first company to do so. Its efforts to enhance drain water heat recovery efficiency for showers were recognized by the Buildings Research Establishment in SAP, the government’s official methodology for assessing home energy and environmental performance.

Product Portfolio

Showersave’s product portfolio centres on innovative Waste Water Heat Recovery Systems (WWHRS) that capture heat from shower wastewater to pre‑warm incoming mains water, significantly boosting household energy efficiency and lowering utility bills. Their flagship QB1‑21XE model is a vertical, triple‑layer copper heat exchanger engineered for effortless “first‑fix” installation without additional non‑return valves or access panels. It delivers up to 70.6 % thermal efficiency at 8 L/min and can be pressure‑tested to 20 bar, making it both industry‑leading and fully compliant with SAP and Part L Building Regulations.

Beyond the QB1‑21XE, Showersave offers the Blue single‑storey shower system—a compact, all‑in‑one WWHRS unit designed for seamless integration into bathrooms or utility spaces, combining form and function for modern homes. For larger projects and multi‑residential developments, the Multivert system provides modular Heat Recovery modules that can be linked to serve multiple showers, helping housebuilders meet Future Homes Standards with a passive, maintenance‑free solution that supports sustainable, net zero energy goals.
