Promoting a Sustainable Future

This latest addition builds upon the existing partnership between James Hargreaves and Daikin, a partnership dedicated to promoting low-carbon products that contribute to achieving net zero goals. With the UK transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy, these centres play a vital role in educating homeowners about the benefits of sustainable and low-carbon home heating solutions.

Educating Homeowners and Empowering Installers

The Huyton Sustainable Home Centre will serve as a valuable resource for homeowners in Merseyside. Visitors can learn about the latest advancements in sustainable home heating technologies, with a particular focus on renewable energy options. The centre also aims to train a significant number of highly skilled clean energy installers each month within the local area. This focus on training empowers installers to confidently embrace renewable heating solutions and guide homeowners through their transition.

Official Launch Event

The official launch event on January 17th is open to all, from homeowners interested in sustainable heating to trade professionals like housebuilders, architects, and heating installers. Local MP Anneliese Midgley will be present to perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12pm.

Industry Leader in Sustainability

"As a company operating since 1923, we've witnessed significant changes in the heating industry," said Gary Beaumont, Sales Director at James Hargreaves. "We are passionate about upskilling our industry and empowering both our staff and customers with the knowledge and confidence to achieve Merseyside's net zero targets. We're thrilled to collaborate with Daikin to provide essential training facilities in Merseyside."

Beaumont continued, "We strongly believe in investing in the future, and we see the transition to net zero as an exciting opportunity. This centre provides a platform to develop opportunities for renewable technologies in the market. We look forward to welcoming installers, equipping them with the expertise needed to drive our industry towards a greener future."

Unlocking the Potential of Heat Pumps

Iain Bevan, Commercial Manager of Heating & Renewables at Daikin UK, highlighted the significant benefits of heat pumps: "Heat pumps offer immense potential for reducing energy consumption and lowering home bills. Compared to traditional options, transitioning to an air source heat pump can result in substantial savings over its lifespan – exceeding £3,000 compared to gas boilers, exceeding £6,000 compared to oil, and surpassing £9,000 compared to LPG."

Bevan further emphasized the need for education: "Our research shows a significant knowledge gap – a staggering 68% of homeowners are unaware of the superior energy efficiency of heat pumps compared to gas boilers. While gas boilers operate at 70-90% efficiency, heat pumps boast a remarkable 300-400% efficiency. These Sustainable Home Centres, like the one here at James Hargreaves, are the perfect platform to educate homeowners about this technology."

Making Green Upgrades Accessible

Bevan also pointed out the financial incentives available for homeowners: "The Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers a generous grant of £7,500, making green energy efficiency improvements more accessible than ever."

To further encourage installers, Daikin is offering a £500 cashback or credit on the Daikin Altherma HHT heat pump when replacing a boiler, older heat pump, or any other existing heat source. (Full terms and conditions can be found on daikin.co.uk/cashback)

The James Hargreaves and Daikin Sustainable Home Centre in Huyton is a testament to our dedication to a greener future. By educating homeowners and empowering installers, we'll pave the way for a more sustainable and energy-efficient heating landscape in Merseyside and beyond.
