Baxi was established in 1866 in Lancashire and the majority of the products it sells in the UK and Ireland are manufactured at its site in Preston. Baxi UK is part of the BDR Thermea Group. Fuel Types

Baxi boilers come in either natural gas or LPG (bottled gas) versions. Most UK homes have main gas (natural gas) pumped into the home. An extremely efficient method of heating the home, Baxi's range has large heat exchangers that collect and use most of the heat created when the gas burns. Coming in different types (heat only, system and combi) and sizes there are options for every home.

However, around four million homes in the UK rely on other methods of heating due to not being connected to the mains gas network. LPG (bottled gas) boilers are supplied via a tank and have high efficiency; especially when used with a condensing boiler. Working in a similar way to natural gas boilers, the LPG boilers from Baxi are specifically designed to run off LPG and require no conversion. Offering the lowest carbon emissions out of available fossil fuels to those requiring alternatives to mains gas, LPG boilers will help reduce home heating and hot water costs.

Boiler Types

Baxi's boilers come in three types designed to suit different homes. Combi Boilers are the UK's most popular type of boiler. Designed to run off gas central heating and domestic hot water, they provide everything required to heat radiators and provide hot water in one compact unit. They save valuable space by removing the need for a hot water cylinder elsewhere in the house.

Heat Only Boilers, also known under various other names such as open vent and conventional boilers, are ideal for when there is an expansion tank and a cold water storage cistern already installed. Perfect for homes that have multiple bathrooms and run a low-pressure system, Heat only boilers allow for the running of several hot water taps at the same time.

System Boilers have the pump and expansion vessels are built into them. With no need for any other systems stored elsewhere, a sealed hot water cylinder within the boiler itself provides hot water for both the taps and radiators. Giving a high flow rate, they are ideal for busy family homes and are compatible with a range of hot water storage cylinders, including the Megaflo Eco from Heatrae Sadia (Baxi's sister company).
